Interview Excerpt

Next: I'm working on two other novels in the same series, under the series title Camden Noir. The first will be a psychological thriller about a policeman with amnesia. Then there's another satirical thriller - about a charity rock concert, set in the Caribbean.

Social media: It's difficult to say what impact social media has had, as it's all still very new. There's so much hot air about social media and I feel a great deal of it is Emperor's New Clothes. But I have met some very interesting people.

Personal appearances: I'm going to be in Leeds, Yorkshire, UK, at the Leeds Literary Festival on March 7th. I'm running a workshop at Southampton Solent University on March 14th and then, thankfully, a breather before I'm up at Newcastle Noir on Saturday May 5th, which happens to be my birthday. So that should be fun.

Short stories: It's strange. My short story style is not so different from my novel writing, but the genres are. There's a certain dark humour in both, but the short stories explore completely different genres. One is a rather odd-beat mystery. Another a fantasy. Yet another is an ultra-short spy story.

Free short stories: They have been extraordinary successful. Every time I look more and more copies of book (The Cupboard) have been downloaded.

Primary genre: I seem to write variations of thrillers. I mention this hesitantly as we never called Liam Glass a thriller - but if you look at the reviews on Amazon, that's the word that keeps cropping up. I certainly like to write stories that keep you turning the pages.

Blog: My goal is to have fun, to talk about things that interest me, review books you may have missed or give tips on writing. Maybe also attract a people who might try one or other of my books.

Author Description:
A writer from the age of twelve, after earning a Bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, D.M. Miller trekked a path from North to South to West, finally settling with her family among prickly cactus thorns and big sky valleys. Coming from a distinctively clashing gene pool, the author of the romantic interfaith "Heart" series has an appetite for going against the grain in both fiction and nonfiction alike, exploring the difficult themes of religion, politics, ethnicity, culture, family, ancestry, identity and most of all, love.

Interview Excerpt

Next: I have a new book coming out April 1. It’s a book of poetry and essays called, Banished Thoughts.

Social media: I have met a few people on Twitter, but Facebook is where I’ve developed more relationships with fellow authors and new readers. Building a following is slow-going and requires time, work and patience.

Personal appearances: So far I’ve only attended one local author fair at a library and the big Tucson Festival of Books, but I hope to go to more events in the future. At the moment, the only thing planned is on March 30 at Dog-Eared Pages Bookstore in Phoenix, AZ.

Primary genre: Intercultural romance is my primary genre, and what’s worked best is simply developing personal relationships with potential readers. Romance is a tough genre, and my brand is a hard sell.

Giving books away for free has never done a thing to help me. Just a waste of money—my money! I’ve done two Goodreads giveaways and didn’t even get a review out of either one…

Blog: It’s not easy, and sometimes I do let things slip. As long as I keep myself organized, I can make it work. My primary goal is to write what I want when I want and hopefully break through to readers while I’m doing it. It’s why I self-publish. I don’t want to be confined or restricted to someone else’s guideline and timeline.

Tucson Festival of Books 2018: It was a great experience, and G-d willing, I will be attending again next year. To prepare, I first bought several copies of my own books to have on hand, and I attended a couple of events that were not book-related beforehand, just to practice my spiel… I don’t think I’ll do anything different next year except refine my pitch.

Interview Excerpt

Next: I have two non-fiction books I'm working on. The first one is for writers and should be out by the end of April. Wise Writer's Workbook. It's something I wish I'd had when I began writing. Not only a planner, but a great place to store information for future books in a series. Instead of having all my notes scattered about, half online and half in folders, this will give me a convenient place to store it all.

Social media: I love my Twitter peeps! simply connecting with people who love to read. Book people are great to network with.

Personal appearances: I love doing events and meeting readers. My next signing will be at Dog-Eared Pages bookstore in Phoenix, Arizona on April 21st. I usually sign at the Glendale Chocolate Affair in February, at the Renaissance Festival in February or March, and at the Tucson Festival of Books every year. Sometimes, I can be found at Phoenix Comi-Con. My schedule is posted on my website.

Fairy tales in rhyming verse: I don't know if they help sell my books, but the kids seem to enjoy them, and they are so much fun to write and quite addicting!

Primary genre: Middle Grade Historical Fiction with a bit of Fantasy thrown in for fun. What has been your best marketing approach to this group? Signing events and school visits by far.

Giveaways: I began giving my first book away for free at signing events because I write for children and I would feel terrible if young readers wanted my books but maybe their parents couldn't afford it.

The Minstrel's Tales novels set: Yes, the fairy tales can be enjoyed by a younger reader than the novels. I've also had several requests to do a full book of fairy tales and might get on that next year. Absolutely, bundling my trilogy had increased event sales. I'm so glad I did it. Now, I know they have the whole story!

Tucson Festival of Books 2018: I love TFOB! So many readers and so many authors all in one place! I get a sparkly ribbon to wrap up my book bundles and make quite the mess with all the sparkles! Make sure I have plenty of bookmarks to give away and schedule the Minstrel's Tale eBook for free for the duration of the event.

Dianne Harman
Featured Book: Murdered at the Gallery

Some experts say the honeymoon phase of a marriage lasts for about six months, but they didn't take murder into account!

When the county judge is murdered and Kat's District Attorney husband of far less than six months, is not only a suspect, but now the lead attorney in another murder case, Kat has to find the killer to clear his name.

Who knew the judge was addicted to watching computer porn? But was that the reason he was murdered?

Was the killer the judge's "unusual" wife who spent millions building a castle in the middle of Kansas and then filling the moat around the castle with alligators? Or the head of Mothers Against Pornography Addiction? Could it have been the woman who was having an affair with the judge? Or her husband? After all, he did attend Rageaholics meetings. Or even the young sorority girl who was making a lot of money appearing on porn sites?

Sometimes a guard dog is just as important as a former Green Beret, and Kat was grateful to both of them when they saved her life!

Kris Tualla
Featured Book: Sempre Avanti: ALWAYS FORWARD

“Sempre Avanti: Always Forward” is the first historically correct *novel* about the WWII ski troopers who, despite multiple trials and setbacks, evolved into the US Army’s elite 10th Mountain Division ~ and follows their triumphant campaign as they push the German Army out of Italy.

Skiing was Jack Franklin’s passion, so when the Army came recruiting for the newly formed Ski Troopers he was all in. Training at high altitudes in the Rocky Mountains at Camp Hale in Colorado was brutal, but the 14,000 soldiers who trained there became an elite corps, the 10th Mountain Division, ready and eager to take on Hitler in the Italian Alps.

Along the way, Jack formed a long-distance relationship with the woman who recruited him ~ but her East Coast socialite background was as opposite his West Coast blue-collar life as it could possibly be. With him facing battle against Nazi Germans in the Alps, and her going overseas with the Red Cross, there was nothing for them to do but hope and pray they would both survive.

There’s only one way to fight a war: sempre avanti ~ always forward.

Author Description:
Author Gary Ponzo began his writing career over a decade ago by writing short stories. He quickly discovered a knack for the short form. In just five years he'd published seven short stories in various publications, two of which were nominated for the very prestigious Pushcart Prize.

His first novel, "A Touch of Deceit," took five years to write and one to pick clean. The story was born from his childhood experiences working in his father's candy store in Brooklyn, NY. His father was Sicilian and became friendly with some local members of a different kind of Sicilian family. Since Gary was just fifteen at the time, these family members would make sure he was protected whenever he would work late at night by himself. He soon discovered a side to the mafia not many people knew. It was these relationships which caused him to write about Sicilian FBI agent, Nick Bracco, who recruits his mafia cousin to chase down the world's most feared terrorist.

"A Touch of Deceit," went on to win the 2009 Southwest Writers Novel Contest, Thriller category. He is currently working on the 5th book in the Nick Bracco series as well as trying to create world peace in his spare time. Gary currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Jennifer and two children, Jessica and Kyle.

Author Description:
Hello, I'm Robert Bidinotto. Thanks for stopping by. I'm author of the #1 Kindle bestselling thriller, "HUNTER," its award-winning sequel, "BAD DEEDS," and the newly released "WINNER TAKES ALL." I've also been a widely published, award-winning investigative journalist, magazine editor, and nonfiction author.

Ever since I watched "The Lone Ranger" and read Batman comics as a boy in the 1950s, the pursuit of justice became a life-long passion. Justice was the theme of my nonfiction work, including investigative reporting and nonfiction books about crime and the criminal justice system. Now, the quest for justice has become the theme of my fiction-writing, too.

Like me, the hero of my Dylan Hunter thrillers is motivated by his passion for justice. He just can't walk away when there's an injustice against people he cares about. Too often, the institutions of the law are too inept to do anything on behalf of victims; and sometimes, those in power are themselves responsible for perpetrating the injustices. That's why Dylan Hunter felt compelled to become a vigilante. It's why I refer to him as "the new face of justice." And it's why I refer to myself as "The Vigilante Author." So if tales of justice are your thing, then, like thousands of readers, I think you'll enjoy my Dylan Hunter thrillers.

With my talented musician wife, Cynthia, and our stridently individualistic cat, Luna, I make my home on the Chesapeake Bay. I enjoy communicating with my readers. So please feel free to contact me through my blog, "The Vigilante Author, at www.bidinotto.com. While you're there, be sure to sign up on my email list, to get free premiums and be notified of new releases in the series.

Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy "HUNTER," "BAD DEEDS," "WINNER TAKES ALL," and the continuing adventures of Dylan Hunter -- "the new face of justice."

Claude was born in Montreal, Canada, at a very young age, where he still resides with his spouse, Joanne, under the watchful eye of Krystalle and Midnight, two black females of the feline persuasion. In a former life, he completed his studies at McGill University and worked in various management capacities for a handful of firms over countless years. His first stab at writing fiction was actually in 1995, the result being his first novel, Vigilante. Two others of the same series followed by 1997 but all three remained dormant until publication in 2009. Since, besides writing ASYLUM, a stand-alone, the Vigilante Series has grown to thirteen thrilling installments including his latest release, Make it Happen.

Two of his novels were included in the pair of blockbuster 9 Killer Thriller anthologies, the second of which made the USA Today Bestsellers list in March 2014. Claude has also penned Something's Cooking, a faux-erotica parody and cookbook under the pseudonyms Réal E. Author Description:
I never expected to be a writer. In fact, I was voted the student least likely to visit a library. (Don't believe it? Feel free to check my high school yearbook.) Well, times change I suppose, and I have now authored several novels including the internationally best-selling Stephanie Chalice Thriller Series.

Early in my writing career, I received support from none other than best-selling novelist, Nelson DeMille, who reviewed my work and actually put pencil to paper to assist in the editing of the first book. DeMille has been a true inspiration to me and has also given me some tough love. Way before he ever said, "Lawrence Kelter is an exciting new novelist, who reminds me of an early Robert Ludlum," he told me, "Kid, your work needs editing, but that's a hell of a lot better than not having talent. Keep it up!"

I've lived in the Metro New York area most of my life and rely primarily on locales in Manhattan and Long Island for my stories' settings. I try very hard to make each novel quickly paced and crammed full of twists, turns, and laughs.

Author Description:
I live in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University. I've been married longer than my wife likes to admit, and have two grown children, Josh and Elizabeth, and four beautiful grandchildren. Molly, Charlie, Josie, and Lily!

I lost my blind black Lab, Max, 26 months ago. He a was great friend who also served as my "writing" dog. He pushed me hard to get to the writing room each morning so he could snore on his rug while I did all the work. I still miss him but we added Braxton and Beaux two years ago, a chocolate lab and boxer/beagle mix who we rescued, and they're getting it, sort of. Not bad for two-year old Big Dogs.

I'm an older writer. I started about twelve years ago and got the first story I wrote, Herb's Home Run, published in Writer's Journal. I've been hooked since then.

I lost my real job six years ago and after 600 resumes with no luck, decided I was going to make it as a writer, and here I am. Caribbean Moon was a labor of love, and writing it taught me more about myself than I cared to know. (My wife thinks I should keep my mind a secret!)But it also taught me to expect more of myself and I do.

I finished the second book in this series, Deceitful Moon, a couple of months later and have completed eight in the series, Emerald Moon, Caribbean Rain, Carolina Rain, Vegas Rain, Caribbean Fire, and Miami Fire, released in March of 2015, plus six short stories, another first in a series, Drop Dead Perfect, and an epic Fantasy called Seer, also released in April of 2015. In December of 2015 I released a short story of Manny and Sophie's first case, called The First One. The ninth book in the series, Cajun Fire will be released in April of 2016 and then we're on to Perfect Sinners, the second Ellen Harper psych-thriller.

I was also fortunate enough to participate in an anthology with six other mystery writers, The Killing Sands. We are now working on second in that vein called Seven and that will be out by May, 2016. Yeah, sort of addicted to this writing thing. :)

I've not made it yet to where I believe God is taking us, but we're on that road, and I want to be a living example that with hard work and God's blessing, you can do anything. I want to encourage you to go for that special thing you've been dying to try...one never knows!
